Chasey was my heart. Chase was my 9 year old pug. He is the reason that I started this website. Chase was the perfect companion.  Chase was the one soul on this earh that gave me unconditional love.

Chase never barked, complained or made a nuisance of himself. He was always there when I needed a friend. Without fail every meal was a delight. He awoke every morning ready for his exciting day, but no matter how humdrum it was he was esctatic to be alive.

I would watch Chase and wonder why I couldn't be more like him. Why the world was not as exciting. It is what I make of it. I tried to aspire to his "everything's gonna be okay attitude".
Chase loved to visit people, dogs any animal or critter. He was accepting of anything living. He loved to go riding on my atv. It was another adventure he did not want to miss.

During Chase' 9 years with me he almost died three times. I had him neutered and he got an infection. I got his booster shots and he went into anaphylactic shock. He was allergic to the serum.

I tried to get snake aversion classes several months prior, but our area did not have any snakes to train our animals. I wish I had taken him out of the county, but I didn't.  All I can do now is remember my wonderful Chase and try to help others avoid this heartbreaking tragedy.

Chase was bitten by a diamond back rattlesnake on June 9, 2007 and died within two hours. He went into anaphylactic shock within 15 minutes. I could not give Chase the snake vaccine.

True to Chase' nature he never barked or made a sound. He tried to get close to me so that I knew something was wrong. It took me too long to figure it out.
